I run Windows XP Pro on a virtual machine using VMWare Workstation 6.0 (the host runs Windows XP Media Center). Ultramon seems to be working well on the host, but on the virtual machine, the move and maximize buttons do not appear in the window title bars and the move and maximize commands do not appear in the window menus. This worked before, but after I did a repair of my XP installation on the virtual machine is when it stopped working.

Is UltraMon still installed? If yes, check if the window buttons and menu commands are still enabled under UltraMon options.

Please post the system information from UltraMon's About dialog (when running within the virtual machine).
You can access the dialog via UltraMon menu > About.

That looks okay. Do you get any error messages when UltraMon starts?
What happens if you close UltraMon, then restart it via the shortcut in Start Menu > Programs?

No error messages. If I shut down and restart UltraMon, I still have the same problem. I have even tried to repair the installation of UltraMon.

If you are using version 2.7.1, I would recommend giving the 3.0 Beta 2 release a try.

Now that I got my multiple displays working, time to get ultramon working on this system. I'm planning on running primarily via VMs on this machine. I have VMWare workstation 6.5beta installed. What version of UltraMon should I install. I'm back at 2.7.1.0 so I need to upgrade anyway. I'm also ok with running an UltraMon beta. Are the recomendations for running within a VMs documented. If not do you have any pearls of wisdom that VM users should be aware of. --Greg

You shouldn't have any specific issues with virtual machines, as far as UltraMon is concerned this is just a regular system.
If you're running XP or earlier in the VM I would recommend using version 2.7.1, for Vista you should install the 3.0 beta.
