First off, never encountered this in Beta 1.
Photoshop CS2 would crash on start with UltraMon loaded.

What happens if you close UltraMon, start Photoshop, then start UltraMon again?
Regarding the issue with the phantom task buttons: please check if the Smart Taskbar update fixes the problem.

In case I Close UltraMon -> Launch Photoshop SC2 -> Launch UltraMon no issues are observed.

I'm not sure what would cause this, please check if disabling the window buttons, menu commands and/or dragging of maximized windows for Photoshop fixes the problem.
You can do this via UltraMon Options > Compatibility.

OK, had to 'disable window buttons' in order for Photoshop to launch. All other checkboxes are unchecked.

Thanks for the update. Please use the workaround for the time being, unfortunately I can't test with Photoshop CS2 and also don't know what exactly might cause this.

I have installed the CS3 trial version for testing, the application launches without problems with UltraMon running, but I haven't been able to fully test it yet due to a problem with the trial period.
