I'm running ultramon on a vista laptop, thinkpad t43 with ati x300 graphics attached to an external monitor.
Unless I’m misunderstanding, UltraMon is supposed to generate a set of new buttons on the top bar of all my windows (such as firefox) that does thing that “maximize across screens” and such. Those buttons are there because when I click in that general area, it does crazy things like maximize my firefox across both the screens. However, the buttons aren’t showing up (they’re functioning but invisible?)
This is a huge problem as I often drag windows around and end up clicking those invisible buttons.
They actually do appear SOMETIMES for a split second when I first open firefox but then are immediately gone.
Also, on a completely unrelated issue, every time I close my AIM (aol instant messanger), ultramon crashes out, citing a taskbar error. I think you’ll want the exact error message, I’ll give it to you when I get home and do it.

The window buttons don't work yet under Vista, at least not when using the Aero or Vista Basic themes. Support for this will be in the second 3.0 beta.
As a workaround, go to UltraMon Options > Window Title Bar and disable the two buttons. You can still move/desktop-maximize windows by right-clicking the application's title bar and selecting the move/desktop-maximize command from the menu.
Regarding AIM: do you get a fatal error in TaskBand.cpp at line 633? If yes, this issue will be fixed in the next release, unfortunately there is no workaround.

I have configured Ctrl-' as a keyboard Hotkey to move windows between my 3 monitors. It is even more comfortable than clicking on buttons.

The second beta is currently under development, I don't have a release date yet.
