Hi i was trying ultramon 2.7. After install it was great but after reboot, my whole graphic drivers had been messed up and XP was running in 4bit mode.
First i tought it might be because Windows Blind was running. But later on some friends told me that they are using Ultramon 3 beta with WindowsBlind, and that they dont have any problems. So I tried it to. But again. After reboot, graphic driver messed up. XP is running in 4bit. I couldnt even use the automatic screen resolution any more. Luckily i have an image of C. Otherwise i need to reinstall. Anyone had the same bug? Or someone who has a solution? txs

This seems to be a compatibility issue with UltraMon's mirroring feature and some video card driver versions, removing the mirroring feature will fix the problem.
To do this, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on Change, then deselect the mirroring feature on the Customize Installation screen.

TXS for the help. But there`s a bug too. I tried Ultrmon 2.7 and 3 beta.
When i install new --> custom. And choose the disable the monitoring feature at the install. The installer always terminates itself. Violation of adress.... When i go the other way, full install. And than try to change install over control panel to deselct the monitorring. The same happens. :(

Thanks again:)
Finally managed it to uninstall mirroring.
Now it works just great. Thinking about getting the full version.
Good work!

Glad to hear you got it working, unfortunately I don't know what might have caused the setup error you got.

Hello,
I have also run into this problem recently. I am running Windows XP64, my video card is an Asus Geforce 7900GS and the video card drivers are as follows from XPs device manager.
Driver Provider: NVIDIA Driver Date: 29/06/2007 Driver Version: 6.14.11.6218
Is there a way to confirm that the Mirroring feature will cause the same problem with my specs? I also get a message saying the driver version that I was using was written for an earlier version of Windows and then I get the 4 bit color and 640x480 (I think) resolution.
What version of UltraMon were you able to get working and how? Did removing the Mirror feature only help?
Thanks very much, Brad

You would need to test this by removing the mirroring feature, then rebooting the system. You could always add the mirroring feature again later.

Thanks a lot Christian!
I installed UltraMon 2.7.1 x64 and unchecked the Mirror option at the install.
Works perfectly! Cheers,
