I'll look into this for the next release. Restarting UltraMon will temporarily fix the problem.

I get this same error quite often, about twice a day. Closing and restarting UltraMon gets it up and running again.

We get the same problem. We find that is is always when there is a heavy memory load on the computer. A couple of applications hate to work with UM Beta1. They include Microsoft Money 2007.
We find that almost every time we fire this up with other applications running, UM crashes.
We did not have this problem before.
Hope the info helps.

Yes, I get this one quite often as well on both Vista 32-bit Ultimate and Vista 64-bit Ultimate. It usually (but not always) happens when I have several apps running and then fire up Paint Shop Pro 11. I've got 4GB of RAM, so I don't think it really is a RAM issue, as the message seems to imply.

Oops. Meant to add there's no VMWare here, so I find that bit an unlikely specific contributor.

Happen to be using Windows Media Player 11 heavily today, and it's bombed Ultramon out with this error the last four times I've started WMP 11.

I get the same problem on XP, (3.0 beta 1). Seems to happen after it runs for 48 hours or so (yeah, I never turn this PC off).
If I go into UltraMon properties, disable smart taskbar, then re-enable it, I can run for another hour or so before the error reoccurs.

Just wanted to add my .02 cents here:
I am seeing the same problem, and it occurs with the Spark Instant Messaging Client which is Java based, I haven't had a problem with any other application and it only happens when someone sends an instant message to the open window. If the window is on the main monitor without a Ultramon Taskbar then the above error does not occur.
My system stats: Ultramon: 3.0.0 (3.0 Beta 1) Mobo: MSI K9N SLI Platinum Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ (2.41 GHz) Video: 2, nVidia PCIe 8500GT (running 4 monitors) – 256MB RAM per card RAM: 2GB, PC2 6400 CL5 240 OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Love your product! been using it for over 5 years now!
Feel free to contact me to test any alpha/beta versions you have.
Regards, Jim

Same happens here quite often on a Dell D620 with XP Prof.

I too see this problem about twice a day on XP Pro. I only have 512MB of memory and with my Oracle CRM Java app, Outlook, Snagit, several Explorer windows and my Bomgar Client all running I have very little memory available. Looking at Task manager my swap is being used extensively.
I was going to take the hint from the error message and upgrade my memory to 1GB. I may do this anyway but its starting to sound like a memory leak somewhere. Not neccessarily with UltraMon.
Please post back if you duplicate this inhouse and come up with a work around.

The TaskBand.cpp at line 633 error is not due to insufficient free memory, you would also get this with 1 GB of RAM.

I finally added a shortcut to the UltraMon Taskbar app to my Start menu. Every time it crashes, I simply run that (not the main UltraMon app). It's a stop-gap measure that avoids restarting or killing a process. peace, mjh

I face this crash as well, and replicate it every time. I have the Smart Taskbar running on my left screen, with the right screen being primary. I have the main Outlook Express window running on the right pane.
If I create a new message, move it to the left screen and then click "Send", as soon as Outlook Express closes the message window, Smart Taskbar crashes with the Error 1402 at Line 633 error.
Every time I send a new message from the left screen, I get the same crash.

Tuxster, I would recommend installing version 2.7.1 if you get this error all the time.
