Ok, out of the many programs I install on my Vista machine, the one I absolutely can not live without is UltraMon. I have to say, this is by far one of the best programs I have ever used, and check every day for a beta 2 or an update.
Honestly, the issues that I have run across with Vista and UltraMon have seriously made me consider switching back to Windows XP. Funny how I would choose UltraMon over an OS, but really, I can't live without my secondary task bar.
I am seriously crippled without UltraMon, and can't wait for the next update. Hoping it will come out soon.

Do you get one of the 'UltraMon Taskbar encountered a fatal error' messages?
If yes, just restart the Smart Taskbar, usually it will work fine again.
For me 3.0 Beta 1 works mostly fine on 64-bit Vista, but I also get duplicate task buttons and a fatal error from time to time.

Vista become unstable with ultramon. Sometimes explorer.exe process goes up to 100% usage when ultramon is active. I close ultramon and everything goes fine. The problem is I love ultramon too !!!

I haven't seen this myself so far, have you noticed if it only happens if another application is running as well, or after doing something specific in Windows Explorer?

Hey,
Yeah I get the fatal error message. Unfortunately I only have access to an x86 machine so I can't run 64 bit Vista.
The problem with restarting when I get the fatal message is that I get it again about 4-5 times per day. It only happens when I have windows explorer open on my secondary monitor.
Hoping the issue will be fixed in the next release.

Dunno, but my Athlon X2 with Vsiat ultimate x64 was unstable with Ultramon beta 1 - it restarted sometimes. I uninstalled it and system became stable.
Any ETA for beta 2?
