Hello,

I recently setup a multi-monitor system and decided to try out your utility as it is suppose to be "the must have utility" for multi-monitors. However, I have run into the same problem as a number of other people (see ) mainly that UltraMon makes my system unusable. Looking at the previous threads no fix was ever mentioned. I was wondering if you have any more insight or is the Magical 3.x version beta available that fixes this problem? Thank you.

System:
2 x Dell 2007FP on Geforce 5200 (PCI)
1 x Dell 3007WFP on Geforce 5200 (AGP)
2.4 GHz Intel
1GB RAM
Win XP SP2
WB 5.1
UltraMon 2.7.1 (Trial)

Just like everyone else turning Ultramon off makes the problem go away immediately and turning it back on brings it back immediately.

It's most likely a conflict with another application, you could run EnumHooks to check which other applications have hooks installed.

Did that. Lots of application apparently have hooks intsalled. All seem to play fine with each other except Ultramon. Is there a fix other than uninstalling ultramon?

What you could try:

- close UltraMon after system startup, then start it manually again. This will change the hook order, and can fix compatibility issues

- check which other application which uses hooks conflicts with UltraMon, then disable that application. UltraMon in general works fine together with other applications which use hooks

Had already tried step one and did not have any luck. How do I know which ones are conflicting? The log file does not indicate which program is conflicting with what.

You would need to test this by disabling other applications one by one, then check if the problem went away, unfortunately there is no other way to do this.

Hmmm... Guess then this a lost sale for Ultramon. I need my other programs and they work fine with each other. Ultramon does not work with them.

I'll check in a few month to see if the mythical 3.0 release is out. Maybe it'll be less buggy. Thanks for the help!

Perhaps if you spent the time to find out which of the other processes you have running is causing the conflict with Ultramon you could help the author to fix the issue.

But instead you just give up, label the program buggy, and walk away. If that isn't ignorant, I don't know what is.

Frosty, UltraMon is not freeware so the engineers have to solve the problem.
If we spent much time for a program which is buggy and not freeware then we paying double :)
