I've an X1650Pro and whenever I try to enable my TV (via S-video) as a secondary display, it'll flicker for a second and..that's it. I've tried extending it in Display Properties but same deal.

I've in the past used the TV as a secondary and it worked with my Radeon 9800Pro but this is driving me insane.

If I set the tv as primary, I can get it to work but then the monitor goes blank and vice versa.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a display driver issue.

One other thing you could try: uninstall UltraMon's mirroring feature, maybe the display driver has a problem with the mirror driver used by UltraMon.

To do this, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on Change, then deselect the mirroring feature on the Customize Installation screen of the setup.

I've tried using the latest drivers from ATI, Omega drivers, and the ones that came with the CD; each time making sure to remove all traces whilst in Safe Mode.

I've also removed mirroring in Ultramon as I came across that prior to posting and no-go.

I'm not entirely sure but perhaps this card can't support concurrent TV Out whilst using my CRT as well? As I've mentioned, if I want one or the other, the display works but I'd like to extend the desktop as I had in the past.

In any event, ATI and HIS tech support has been atrocious so if they don't give me a response soon, I'll just finally make the switch over to Nvidia.

Thanks for reading.

I would expect this to work fine, 1 monitor + 1 TV shouldn't be a problem.

Most cards are limited to two displays though, so you wouldn't be able to use 2 monitors + 1 TV at the same time.

Exactly, you'd think that just the primary CRT with the TV Out would work but no such luck.

Think my card could be faulty? I only mention it because my card has two DVI outputs and one of them won't work with my monitor(as in I only get a black screen) but the other does.

Really, I'm at wit's end so I'm glad you're taking the time as ATI/HIS obviously don't concern themselves with their customers.

Yesterday I installed the latest version of UltraMon, and now I see the same thing. Never did before. Updated my Nvidia drivers this AM with the latest certified version. My specs as stated from UltraMon:

2 monitors
Current desktop: 3520x1200 (0,0 - 3520,1200)

Monitor 1 - Plug and Play Monitor (primary):
Settings: 1920x1200, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 0,0 - 1920,1200. Workspace: 0,0 - 1920,1166
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT/GTO
Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor1

Monitor 2 - SyncMaster 204T/204Ts/204B,SyncMaster Magic CX201Ts(Digital):
Settings: 1600x1200, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 1920,0 - 3520,1200. Workspace: 1920,0 - 3520,1166
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT/GTO
Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor0

Guess I ought to back\down-grade UltraMon?

Dys, that might be a possibility, haven't seen anything like this myself though.

AnotherUMuser, have you tried removing the mirroring feature?
