I try to use the PowerPoint viewer presentation screen and move it to the secondary monitor. Problem is that the viewer needs to be started by an application, not by the user. The presentation can be made on any computer by any user, with all kind of PP versions. Only since PP2003 the secondary monitor setting is saved in the PPT file. The problem is the modern laptop/pc: widescreen. When using Ultramon, the PP viewer (2003 and 2007 versions) centers the presentation on the primary display (1280x800). Then, when using Ultramon, to move the display to the secondary monitor (1024x768) the image is not centered, but moved to the left for about 256 pixels. The PP screen is not resized. Is there a solution to this, because most of the LCD projectors stll use 1024x768 resolution?

Could you use PowerShow to run the presentation? That would probably fix the problem.

Powershow could fix the problem, but the problem is that the software I develop is ment to be low cost. I develop the software for an evangelical/pentacostal organization. It is used in churches all around the country (Netherlands and Belgium) to show hymn texts by using a LCD video projector. The software is capable to show PowerPoint presentations (using the PowerPoint viewer). Adding Ultramon will raise the price of the software and adding Powershow too to the package will raise it evenm more, and that can be an argument not to buy the software. In comparance to EasyWorship (simular software, but can also show video's) that is priced for $399 our package is only 65 euro's in 2006 (one time , further years a special update price for new songs and renewed software, when user is registered). As said, adding Ultramon and maybe Powershow wil raise the price above 100 euro's, we presume. And that is not low cost anymore. Is there a way for a special license construction for both tools? It is about 1000 to 1500 licenses, maybe 500 more. I presume a license is valid as long as the software exists? You can contact me at the provided e-mail address, if needed.

UltraMon won't help with this, it just moves and resizes the window, it would then be up to PowerPoint to resize/reposition the presentation within the window as necessary.

I sounds like you need MediaShout, software that was designed for multiple monitors. It is different from Powerpoint in that it uses "Script" files that have multiple "ques" [spelling?] ... the individual ques have links to things like background graphics (which may be graphics - still or in motion) and foreground text (I generally use .RTF files).
This software was designed for a church setting, so you'll see references to Bible quotes and worship songs; however, I see nothing to preclude it being used for any purpose.

I've looked at MediaShout, but that is not what I'm looking for. It's another piece of, I presume, good software, that performs the same thing I want my software to perform. The only problem I have is showing PowerPoint presentations on the secondary screen, and only when the primary and secondary screens differ in resolution (e.a. 1280x800 and 1024x768).
And what about PowerViewer? It looks pretty good to me, because only the viewing function for multimonitor use is needed. Is it ready for PP2007? The only thing against it: expensive! Really, $79,95 is too high for the purpose I need it for. As said, it is for use within a low cost package of software. I presume UltraMon is not needed when using PowerViewer, but even when licensing for 50 users or more, $60,- is too high for a product that only adds multi monitor usage to the PowerPoint Viewer (it replaces it?), as seen from a simple user view. Understand me well, I'm not begging for discount or whatever, but I only try to see it as a customer. Simply, the Ms PP Viewer is free of charge, but does not support multimonitor mode, PowerViewer is not free and its only usage (for my application) will be: show the PP presentation on the secondary monitor. From that point of view almost $60, to $80,- is a lot of money. If there is any piece of software that can do that for me (and for about 1500 users) and is for sale (let's say about 10 to 20 dollars) or free of charge, recommend me, please.

Hi Jacob,
I think it would help if you contact OfficeOne regarding your requirements with PowerShow/PowerViewer. The website http://officeone.mvps.org/ mentions the contact email address.
