Forums -> UltraMon™ -> vlc/mplayer/wmp videos are black&white

i installed the demo version of ultramon and it worked great, but then after switching to the second monitor (TV-Out on my nvidia gf2) and back several times i realized that when playing a mpg file with mplayer or vlc or windows media player all the videos are played back in BLACK & WHITE only!
something really went wrong here...

i uninstalled ultramon -> didn't help
i reinstalled the video driver (detonator for the gf2) -> didn't help
i reinstalled directx 9 -> didn't help

what else could i try (besides reinstalling my win2000)

what could the ultramon have destroyed?

heeeeelp...

My guess would be that the TV mode setting has been changed, for example from NTSC to PAL or vice versa.

Seems unlikely that this issue would be related to UltraMon.

on my TV the videos (mpg) i play are correctly COLORED. when ultramon is loaded even on my MONITOR i see the colors (with vlc/mplayer/wmp), but the cputime is much higher than normal %20-30%, at like 99%.
that is when i turned on the TV with ultramon.
(first monitor is my PC MONITOR, second is TV)

when i turned off the secondary monitor aka TV THEN i get black and white on my PC MONITOR.
even when i uninstall ultramon.

oh and i switched to "opengl video output" driver in vlc, and i see colors. just when i select the "directx video output" driver its black/white

so probably ultramon changed somthing with the directx driver...

is it possible to switch the directx driver to PAL or NTSC mode? i don't see a switch or option in the players i have here (vlc/mplayer/wmp)

Is DirectX hardware acceleration enabled for all monitors?

This option is under Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot.
