Whenever I bring up an MS-DOS window under Windows98, my secondary monitor blanks. Further, it seems to go "off-line", that is, I can't restore the desktop using the Display Control Panel; I have to reboot.
Is MS-DOS just not multi-mon friendly? Does it work like this on your system? This is (unfortunately) a big deal for me since I need to use applications that spawn programs in MS-DOS shells.

After deciding to buy my way out of the situation, I can say that my problem seems fixed. I bought a Voodoo3 3000 AGP card for my secondary monitor and the MS-DOS window comes up fine.
The problem, as suggested by Christian, - thank you very much! - was that one of my display cards just didn't seem to like my motherboard.
So ASUS K7M users beware. This motherboard does not seem to like the SiS 6326 chipset, or perhaps vice versa. Or maybe its just a driver problem. But whatever the case, buying a 6326 card for a K7M-based multi-monitor Athlon system seems to be money wasted.
