Sometimes (about a third of the time) when my PC comes back from displaying the screensaver the desktop is empty - No taskbars, no icons or applications displayed.
The only thing I can do is hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and choose to shut down or log off. As soon as I do so the desktop comes back with all applications as they were and I get an error message 'UltramonDesktop.DLL failed to initialize as the workstaion is shutting down' - the logoff/shutdown/restart then proceeds as normal.
If I choose LogOff and then log back on the desktop comes back blank again.
The PC is a HP dual processor with two TFT screens running off a NVidia Quadro PCI-Express card. I'm using the Ultramon screensaver and I've tried configuring the Ultramon screensaver to use various other screensavers but it always seems the same.
A colleague with the identical hardware config has also seen the same behaviour and said it went away when he stopped using the Ultramon screensaver.
I get occasional screen corruption on the second screen where a window gets repeated (which my colleague has confirmed) so I think it's likely to be related to the graphics card
Any ideas on sorting this out? Is it a bug in Ultramon?

After returning from the screen saver, is the desktop black or do you see your desktop wallpaper?
