i couldn't find this issue anywhere else when searching the forums, but if it has already been asked and directed, i apologize.
i have 3 monitors and would like to have my windows start menu on the center monitor while maintaining a 1,2,3 order from left to right and use the smart taskbar on the outside monitors. does ultramon already do this and i just missed it? what can i do?

This is possible, you'll need to move the Windows taskbar to monitor 2, then move the UltraMon taskbar from monitor 2 to monitor 1.
To move an UltraMon taskbar, right-click the taskbar and make sure 'Lock Taskbar' is unchecked, then grab the bottom-right corner and move it to the desired monitor.
Once the UltraMon taskbar has been moved, you'll need to right-click the taskbar and adjust the 'Show Tasks from' setting so that it shows tasks from monitor 1 only.
You may also want to set monitor 2 as the primary monitor (UltraMon menu > Set Primary). If the monitor with the Windows taskbar isn't the primary monitor, you'll have problems with the Windows taskbar getting moved around when disabling secondary monitors.
