While working with PowerPoint using the mirroring function on UltraMon the system crashed. Now it boots with an XP error saying the profiles may be corrupt and sets me up with a temp profile. Is this unusual? How can I restore/repair my profiles?

Sounds like there's a problem with the Windows user profile. I don't know if/how this could be fixed, I would recommend contacting Microsoft Support.
