Often, when moving the mouse to click on the close button on a window caption, I overshoot and the mouse pointer runs off into my secondary monitor (on the right).
On X11, most virtual desktop managers have "sticky" edges, which you have to "force" your mouse through.
It'd be cool if UltraMon had this feature, so that it was harder to accidentally overshoot and lose the mouse pointer.

Thanks for the suggestion, this is being considered for a future release.

I second this request. This feature would be awesome.

Just to say I spent my time going through the forum to see if anyone else suggested this feature. I'm glad someone did!
For me, I got kinda used to moving my mouse to the very top right of the screen and just clicking, so I knew I'd hit the close-button.
Now, I indeed 'overshoot', moving the mouse to my other monitor by accident. So I'm all for this feature, though it must be hard to implement.
Once implemented, I picture UltraMon to have some kind of toggle-button for the feature, so users could for example hold down the SHIFT key, and the mouse can be moved to the other monitor without problems, whereas the pointer is confined to a monitor when the SHIFT key isn't pressed. The SHIFT key is just an example of some random key to toggle the "snap pointer to monitor"-feature.
Keep up the good work!

Sounds like a cool feature but if implemented make sure it's very easy to turn off or on. Don't force it to be used. Please.
When I first started using dual display I would have loved this feature because I over shot all the time but now i've been using dual display so long that if my mouse started sticking it would upset me. :)
I mean we all manage to hit those submit buttons in the middle of the screen without over shooting. It's just a matter of getting used to not having a wall to guide your mouse.

That feature exists. All you need is a left hand, a pinky finger, and a thumb. Then press CTRL+F4.
hehehe...

I third this request. Sticky edges would be great. I dare say that as soon as that's implemented I'll be buying this program.
You'd of course want it to be completely configurable with something like a "required force to move to next monitor" measured in acceleration of mouse or total distance covered or something and a quick toggle button would be cool too. The only thing that I forsee being a problem with a quick toggle button is that if full-screen games are being played and the toggle is pressed when the moust moves towards the edge of the scren it might go to the 2nd monitor.
Just my 2c...

Has there been any progress on this feature? Will it happen? Is it too hard?
Just curious because I would love such a feature (and know plenty of people from the X windows background who would also).

This feature will be considered for UltraMon 3.

This would be a great feature, and the one that would make me buy Ultramon.

Hi there folks,
I've created a program which simply does this (what the person in the begging said), you may download it for freely here:
