Are you trying to move the contacts window using a hotkey? This should work fine, but you need to disable docking: Preferences > General > Contact List, uncheck 'Enable docking'.

no i'm talking about when you move a chat window from one monitor to another, it does not transfer it on the task bar.... unless the window has popped up on that monitor

Works fine for me, I tested on XP SP1 with Trillian 0.74b. Please let me know what version you are using.
