UltraMon 2.0 final is now available for download. Thanks to all the people who have suggested features and helped fix bugs over the last two years!
If you are upgrading from a previous version, you'll need to uninstall your current version of UltraMon first. See the Release Notes for details.
Existing customers are eligible for a free upgrade to 2.0 final. If you have lost your registration code or it doesn't work with the new version, go to Support to have your registration information e-mailed to you.
The final version of the Developer Edition is available as well, see the website for more information.

I thought all was well after installing once rebooting with some niggling problems....but,
problems are back,
Smart taskbars are not updating properly at all, for example they are failing to move a task showing on taskbar 1 to taskbar 2 when i move a program to that screen (the program still shows on taskbar 1...sometimes when it does update taskbar 2 properly, it fails to remove that task from taskbar 1 and i have the same program showing on both smart taskbars)
At the moment actually....I have only internet explorer on my primary screen...but that taskbar is showing 6 extra things in the taskbar that either flat out arnt running, or are on another screen - on screen 2 I have 1 task showing correctly and 2 other tasks showing that i closed 10 minutes ago...and on my tv, well....that flat out is refusing to update at all.
Each taskbar is set to only show tasks from that monitor itself, if i close and re-open all taskbars they work properly for a little while, there doesnt seem to be a pattern to it, sometimes they update properly, other times they dont.
Have taken a screenshot if you like christian?

I was having similar problems. I uninstalled ultramon, rebooted, and installed again. To the best of my memory I had done that when originally installing the update, but it took me two times for some reason. Works great so far now.

Hi Daniel,
screenshot isn't necessary, problems like this usually mean that there is a conflict with some other application, for example a taskbar clock or other system tray utility.
Let me know what other applications you have running, you can mail me a screenshot of Task Manager > Processes. Also see this thread for a similar problem.

Went back to RC2 and the problems went straight away,
All I had/have running in the background is nortons 2003 antivirus, ultramon, msn messenger and a program that monitors for when my digital camera is plugged in (automatically downloads the photos)
Will email you a shot of my running processes in case you are curious (perhaps there is a pattern with that other forum thread), but I'm a happy enough camper at the moment on Rc2 :)

Thanks for the screenshot. No obvious candidates for a conflict as far as I can tell.
Do you have any of the patches for RC2 installed? If not, please test if you get the same problem when installing the latest taskbar patch, umtbar_wnt_rc2.2.zip. You can download the patches here. See this thread for more on this patch.
Before installing the patch, you should make a backup copy of UltraMonTaskbar.exe.

Thanks for replyting to my email so quickly ( content below). Ho wdo I tell if I had the RC2 patches installed. I ma about to go back to RC2 unless I cna get the release version working. I depend on this utility too much! :)

The smart taskbar was working fine on RC2. The release version of ultramon has problems with tasks on the smart task bar. They are displayed but end up on the main taskbar also when I don't want them to and they are non clickable. only a reset on the ultramon control panel will fix it and then only for a short while. I completely deleted RC2, rebooted and installed the released version. Is this a bug or an intsallation error on my part?

You would have had to install the patch ZIP manually, if you only installed the .msi file for RC2 you wouldn't have had the taskbar patch mentioned above.

I opened an IE window , which usually I have going to the secondary, and it opened on primary, no big deal except when i tried to move to other monitor it wouldn't go! I reset again and it worked. Still have the taskbar issue though.

I was having this problem with Word earlier today. I rebooted and it seems fine now. Definately weird, the move icon was minimizing/maximizing the Word window. This utility is great. The only thing that would mkae it perfect would be a quick launch taskbar on the secondary monitor (hint, hint) :)

Marc, this is planned for one of the next releases, but I don't know yet if it can actually be implemented.
Regarding the Smart Taskbar issue: I haven't found out anything more about this. If you only have this problem after changing UltraMon settings: close UltraMon, then start it again. If this doesn't help, restart the shell (explorer.exe) or reboot the system. Seems to be an issue with repeatedly loading/unloading the hook used by the Smart Taskbar.

Seems as if my install of RC2 worked fine until the screen saver kicked in. It generated an application error for ultramon as I have the ultramon screen savers enabled. I removed and reinstalled ultramon RC2 twice with no luck. Finally I just cleaned up some registry Keys for ultramon (thinking that some leftover keys from RC2 or release may have interfered) and installed ultramon RC1 and that works fine in everything. I got too tired to go further. Just a heads up.
