I know from searching on these forums that there are known problems when using these two programs. But I haven't read of my specific problem which is that windows do not restore to their previous size correctly. If I have both these programs running and I maximize a window, then restoring the window doesn't restore to the previous size but instead always changes the window size to a little over 100% of width and about 90% of height. I've tested this with many different Windowblind skins so I don't think it is skin specific. Very, very annoying.
I've also noticed minor problems with the custom buttons not displaying correctly when a window is maximized to desktop (I've tried configuring the # of custom buttons on the window title bar to no effect) and with the colors being incorrect on smart taskbars (so you can't really make out what a smart taskbar button actually refers to).
I just downloaded UltraMon and I think it's a great utility but I'd hate to give up on using Windowblinds. Are the various incompatibilities between these programs something that is being worked on?
(I'm running Windows XP, Windowblinds 3.1 and UltraMon 2 beta6. )

UltraMon already implements several compatibility fixes for WindowBlinds and WindowFX, I'm also going to take a look at the window sizing issue you mentioned. The 'number of custom buttons' setting currently doesn't work, this should be fixed in Beta 7.
But there are other problems that probably can't be fixed:
- custom window buttons don't work - Smart Taskbar doesn't work if TrayServer.exe is running
Regarding Smart Taskbar skinning: UltraMon supports the standard msstyles format, but not the custom format used by WindowBlinds.
You may also want to contact Stardock and let them know that there are compatibility issues with UltraMon.

Using WinMe / Windows2000 dual boot with UtraMon and TALISMAN 2. No problems. Look at Talisman too ! www.lighttek.com

I've been able to reproduce the problem, I'll try to fix this issue for Beta 7 if possible.
Workaround: disable the custom window buttons. To do this, go to Options > Window Title Bar, and uncheck both 'add button' checkboxes. You'll need to restart UltraMon to apply the changes.

Are there still issues with WindowBlinds and Ultramon? I have the latest of both versions and the and the window title bar icons still don't display well.

Yes, see UltraMon Help > Compatibility > WindowBlinds for details.
The Smart Taskbar look issue might get fixed in UltraMon 3, but the issues with the window buttons can't be fixed in UltraMon.

Actually I used the custom spacing option on the menu you brought to my attention. I set it to 50 pixels and the customized buttons moved to the left enough so they aren't all overlapping!
