Using the new version the child taskbars seem to fail after unlocking the workstation. They no longer update and show new entries. Closing Ultramon and restarting corrects the problem.

Haven't seen this myself so far, which version of Windows are you using?

Windows XP Professional.

Are there any crash logs (or logs of any sort) that I can send you?

So far I haven't been able to reproduce the issue, the UltraMon taskbars correctly track newly opened applications after unlocking the system.

I'm also not sure what might cause this, do you use a custom logon screen, for example a Novell network client or something similar?

You would only get a crash dump if the application actually crashes, if UltraMon detects an error you would get an error message.

Hello!

Well, I'm about to test my workstation without having it run the screen saver and "showing the XP logon screen" afterwords. Although I think this is a useless test as nothing will happen as the workstation will think it's working as normal.

What's really strange is that when I have "kill" ultramon and restart it all programs that typically run in the systray are ran again (a 2nd time). This continues to happen to the point I reboot because I have five of the same applications running.

Very strange.

Weird, most likely there's something else wrong, UltraMon won't launch any other applications during startup.

And it becomes more odd...

Last night I decided to disable any screen saver or anything that would make my workstation do anything other than sit idle. This morning I turned my monitors back on and everything was there nice and ready to go - no screen saver, no logging in, etc.

The original problem still exists - none of my three taskbars (2 ultramon / 1 native) won't update with new applications. The only way to fix this is to close Ultramon and restart it.

Thoughts?

Would you be interested in running a test version of UltraMonTaskbar.exe? You would also need to be able to install and run a debug monitor like DebugView.
