When I select Shortcuts from the pop-up in Beta 5 I get an error saying that Ultramon has caused an error with the following details:
ULTRAMON caused an invalid page fault in module ULTRAMON.EXE at 017f:0040a21a. I am running Win98SE with a Hercules 3d Prophet 3 and a 3d Prophet 2 PCI.
Otherwise everything is cool, great program.

Actually, scrap that - it isn't the only problem I'm getting. Win98 doesn't seem to want to keep the monitor resolution on my main display with Ultramon working. It keeps going back to 1152x864. Why is it so?
Please help - I really want to be able to use Ultramon as most of its other features are pretty cool.

Thanks for your bug report. Looks like UltraMon crashes when executing a shortcut. Please let me know how many shortcuts you have on the shortcuts menu, and if the problem occurs with every shortcut.
Regarding the resolution problem: please let me know what exactly happens. Does UltraMon change the resolution when it is started or closed? Please also post your standard monitor configuration, you can choose About from the UltraMon menu and copy the information from there.

I can't even get the Shortcuts menu to open. As soon as I select Shortcuts from the menu Ultramon crashes.
Copy and paste from Ultramon about:
2 monitors Current desktop: 2432x1024 (0,0 - 2432,1024)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1280x1024, 16-bit color, optimal refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1280,1024. Workspace: 0,0 - 1280,971 Video card: 3D Prophet III Device name: \\.\Display1
Monitor 2: Settings: 1152x864, 16-bit color, 75 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1280,120 - 2432,984. Workspace: 1280,120 - 2432,984 Video card: 3D Prophet II MX PCI Device name: \\.\Display2
It happens when Windows restarts and Ultramon is intalled.

Arrggghhh, the resolution problem isn't related to Ultramon after all. It happens now even though I have uninstalled Ultramon.

I can't reproduce the shortcuts problem on my Win98 test system. If you are interested, we could arrange a remote debugging session over the internet to see what's causing the problem on your system.
This will take some time, approximately 1 hour. It won't work if your system is behind a firewall, and you'll need an instant messaging program (for example MSN Messenger). Please contact me by e-mail if you would like to do this.

Update on this issue: the core problem is that UltraMon fails to monitor the shortcuts directory for changes. We were unable to determine the reason for this during testing.
If you have the same problem, please contact me.
