I have two screens attached to my Vista Media Center:
1) I use a 1024x768 TFT touch screen to listen to music 2) I use a 1280x720 projector to watch movies and TV
I have UltraMon set up to switch between the two screens using hot keys. I only want to use one screen at the time, so the profiles I use for this disable the other screen.
This works great, except that Media Center keeps the aspect ratio of the screen it was launched on. So if I launch MCE on screen 1 and then switch to screen 2, then the screen is stretched too wide, and vice versa.
The workaround is to first exit from MCE, then switch screens, and launch MCE again. Is there a way to avoid this workaround, i.e. to get UltraMon to "tell" MCE to resize?
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, Stefan

UltraMon does resize the window if necessary, but this may not work with all applications. I don't see a workaround/fix for this.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your response. Just to make sure I explained it correctly: UltraMon does resize the window, but this changes the aspect ratio of what is displayed.
Another tool that I've tried (MCE Multi Mon from ryansfindings.com) does manage to do the resizing in such a way that MCE "understands" that is has to redraw the screen because of the different size (and aspect ratio). So doesn't that mean that it could (at least theoretically) also be fixed in UltraMon? I would definitely purchase UltraMon if it could manage to do that!
Thanks, Stefan

Is the Media Center window maximized? If yes, you could try if enabling the alternative move method for Media Center under UltraMon Options > Compatibility fixes the problem.

Yes, the Media Center screen is maximized. I've tried the alternative method, but did not see a difference.
I did notice that the behavior is slightly different between Vista with and Vista without SP1, but it is not working correctly in both cases.
Is there a possibility to request new features for UltraMon? I would definitely like to request to add an additional "alternative method" that does work for a maximized Media Center screen.
Thanks, Stefan

Currently I have no plans to add support for this, I also don't know what UltraMon would need to do differently to get this working with MCE.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make clear(er) what I would like UltraMon to be able to do. Thanks, Stefan

I see what you want to do, but I don't know what would need to be implemented differently in UltraMon to get the desired result, MCE seems to require special treatment to get this working.
