i really need an answer to this question...
i have a vga that comes with two outputs the normal crt output and a dvi-d output
i want to attach a new crt monitor to the pc so i have bought a dvi to vga adapter but i have found that it was a dvi-i adapter.. so my question is can i add the crt monitor using the dvi-d convertor or not???????/
also the adapter contain 4 extra pins can i just remove them ????
thanks

I suspect a device to convert a DVI-D digital signal to analog would not be inexpensive (DVI-I supports both analog and digital, so it can easily be connected to an analog monitor, unlike DVI-D, which is only digital). It might be cheaper to buy an LCD monitor with a digital input if you have no way to replace the video card or to add one with another analog output.
