When I tried to start mirroring I get the error message that failed to setup mirror device or something to that effect. I was hoping to use ultramon to do fullscreen video to my second display which is an HDTV connected by component out.

You could get this error if you're trying to mirror the secondary monitor on the primary monitor instead of the other way around.
To fix this, select the secondary monitor, and configure it to mirror the primary monitor.

Thanks that worked it really wasn't that self explanatory on how mirroring works. But can I not mirror a video? The window is all that shows.

I agree, will be changed in a future release.
To be able to see the video, go to mirroring options and select the Disable Video Overlays option. Please note that this can cause problems for some video players.
