As I've been using multimon more, the dynamic resizing issue seems to keep coming up, and getting more complicated. :)

Some observations:

- Dynamic proportional resizing doesn't seem to work both ways for DOS windows. For instance, pop up a DOS window on a large monitor, then hot key it back and forth between that large monitor and a smaller one (res wise, that is). It will get smaller and smaller as it goes back and forth until it reaches some minimum size.

- Dynamic resizing is great for many programs (e.g., Netscape), but there are some programs for which dynamic resizing is annoying. For instance, I have a couple terminal programs -- on one, the font size changes when you resize it, which I dislike, but can deal with; on the other, it ends up cropping off the bottom right corner of the screen and adding scrollbars, which makes for a painful terminal session. Worst yet is an xterm window, which will resize and leave the fonts the same size -- fine, unless you're running a typical terminal mode unix app in the window which can't deal with on-the-fly window resizing (vi does some amazing things!).

I guess the ultimate would be some kind of ability to specify on a program-by-program basis what the resizing behaviour is, but of course, I recognize that would take a significant amount of extra programming!

Anybody else got any suggestions?

Download beta 4 tomorrow, I think the new resize-to-fit mode will take care of most of these issues. Looking forward to your comments,
