Hi Christian,
I have come across a neat little open source utility to provide multiple virtual desktops; it is a work in progress like Ultramon - it works on XP and Vista.
See http://www.codeplex.com/vdm - it works very well with UltraMon. Besides providing multiple desktops it enables you to have a different wallpaper on each. If I use UltraMon to set the wallpaper this will not work - they obviously do not interact/co-operate. I have to switch to each desktop then set the wallpaper in the normal way.
However I do like your wallpaper component to create wallpapers for multiple monitors - particularly because it supports different resolutions. However, can I make one suggestion - when you create a profile and name it it just retains settings and save a file named UltraMon Wallpaper.bmp. When you change profiles this file is over written. It would be nice if the files were saved with the name of the profile; therefore you could retain the separate bitmaps.
I could then use then in normal way.
Now if you could make UltraMon co-operate with "Vista & XP Virtual Desktops" then that would be something else!
Thanks for a great little app,
Pete

Thanks for the suggestion, will be considered for a future release.

As a workaround, you could create each wallpaper via UltraMon, apply it, then copy the generated UltraMon Wallpaper.bmp file to the location used by the virtual desktop manager.

"Great minds think alike" - that what I am doing.
Anyway thanks for noting the request.
