Im using XP SP2 and when I unlock my machine with ultramon installed I get a unresponsive taskbar. Also, there are black holes where program tabs used to be. Sometimes it take 30 seconds to redraw and refresh the taskbar, other times it takes longer than I am willing to wait. Usually I open task manager, kill explorer.exe, then restart explorer.exe and this fixes the problem. Thanks in advance for any help!

Which version of UltraMon are you using, and which visual style (Windows XP, Classic, or a Style XP or WindowBlinds theme)?

Im using the latest beta, but the problems occurred with the previous version too.

Im running the standard silver theme for XP.

Does the problem go away if you close UltraMon before locking the system?

I've seen similar issues myself occasionally, but both with and without UltraMon installed, and it didn't last for more than 10-20 seconds.

I regularly experience this problem..

especially using Admin tools (Active Directory Users and Computer)... viewing the users profile (all tabs show) but once i click on a tab it disappears and if i click on another tab it disappears...

Sometimes i get bored and see how many tabs i can click and loose... but yeah bit annoying and has been happening a far bit lately...

Jono, do you mean a tab from the application's property sheet?

Does the problem go away if you close UltraMon?

Hi Chris,

Yeah the tabs in the properties sheet. At first glance they show, but as soon as I click on the tab it disappears...

Closing Ultramon works 90% of the time, but doesn't always recover, so im forced to kill explorer and restart it again..

Cheers,
Jono.

Maybe it's a compatibility issue with the hooks used by UltraMon, you could try if disabling the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager or installing UltraMon 3.0 Beta 2.1 fixes the problem.
