I have two LCD monitors on a new HP laptop & docking station...actually it works just fine. I am sure this is uber-basic, but my problem is when I undock the laptop and use it by itself, it's still sending some stuff off to the now non-existent second monitor...an interesting philosophical question would be where does Word actually GO in the metaphysical sense, but my question is more pedestrian...how do I make it recognize that when I am using the laptop by itself it should only use the built in display?

Make sure the secondary monitor has also been disabled in UltraMon menu > Display Settings or Windows Display Properties.
Some applications may still open offscreen, but I would expect Word to work fine.
