Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Ultramon NON FUNCTIONAL with 2 x (1600 x 2560) resolution

Hi,

I have 2 30" displays mounted in the portrait aspect ratio, each with configured resolution of 1600x2560.

Using the Ultramon "switch display" button in the titlebar of a window has a couple of different results:

1) nothing happens, but Ultramon is effectively dead, with the "switch display" button continuously repainting itself in the window title bar.

2) The window is moved to the other display for an instant, and then immediately moved back to the original display.

In either case, Ultramon is effectively non-functional.

Please advise,

Todd

Please post the system information from UltraMon's About dialog. To access the About dialog, right-click the UltraMon icon in the system tray and select About from the menu.

Please also let me know what version of UltraMon and Windows you are using.

Thanks for the information, looks okay.

Does this happen with all applications, for example also with Notepad or Internet Explorer?

Do you have the same problem when moving a window via right-click on the window's title bar and selecting the Move Window menu command added by UltraMon?

Happens w/firefox, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, etc.

Also Excel 2007, Word 2007, etc.

The issue with Office 2007 is due to using classic style instead of the Windows XP visual style (Display Properties > Appearance). This issue will be fixed in 3.0 Beta 2.

I'm not sure what would cause the problem with the other applications, Visual Studio works fine for me. Do you have the nView Desktop Manager enabled? If yes, I would try if disabling it fixes the problem.

Ultramon (same installation) worked fine with this same system when it had 4 20" displays running at 1600x1200 resolution each. I replaced those with the two 30" monitors (as well as the video adapter) and now have the problem.

If you can't furnish a solution, will you refund my money? I think it's a great utility, and have recommended it to quite a few people, which makes it doubly disappointing that it no longer works for me.

Did you check if the nView Desktop Manager is enabled? Usually you can access it via Control Panel.

A refund is no problem, please send a mail to sales@realtimesoft.com and mention your order number.

nView desktop manager is not enabled.

I would rather have a solution than a refund.

Please advise.

Does issue #2 happen with all applications, for example also Notepad and Internet Explorer, or only with the applications you mentioned?
