I came here to post of a problem where Explorer.exe started to hog the CPU at random intervals while Windows Media Player was open (and the Toolbar enabled for the primary monitor). This happened even when the Media Player window was not minimized.
I found that turning off the Toolbar (even when Media Player was maximized) fixed the problem.
I then found that putting wmplayer.exe in the exceptions list for the Window Menu option also fixed the problem and I can have the WMP Toolbar enabled without slowdown.
I have the Title Bar buttons disabled all together so I am not sure if they also affect this or not.
Hope this helps someone.
