I have an NVidia multihead card and UM was working fine until I installed Adobe acrobat. Now UM only recognizes one monitor. How can I get back the multi display with UM rather than NVidia? The NVidia software works fine, but there are a few features missing that I had with UM that makes me want to have the UM work.

Most likely you're using either clone or span mode, you can change back to extended desktop (Dualview) mode via the Nvidia software (usually an option in the control panel or under advanced display properties).

I can confirm this issue - When I updated to Acrobat 8.1.1 ultramon stopped recognizing my projector being attached. I could no longer use my "monitor" or "projector" profiles that I have set up.

I could enable my projector via the standard windows interface AND via the Nvidia special programs, however Ultramon didn't see my projector. Once I switched to my projector via windows, Ultramon would only see my projector and not my main display.

After uninstalling Acrobat reader and rebooting my machine, things are back to normal. There is definately a conflict between the newest acrobat reader (8.1.1) and ultramon version 2.7.1. I'm runing a nvidia 6200 - I can't find the version number of drivers that I'm using.

I did find a version forceware 81.98. I don't know if that's part of this puzzle or not, but I figured I'd mention it.

I have dual nvidia cards, vista ultimate, and dell xps720. I can't get the program to recognize my second monitor. I need the monitors to display the same thing ("clone") but need to set them at different resolutions since my main monitor can handle 1920 by 1080 while the second one can't. Whatever I'm doing wrong is probably pretty obvious, please let me know, thanks

Please post the system information from UltraMon's About dialog. To access the dialog, right-click the UltraMon icon in the system tray and select About from the menu.

If your 2nd monitor problem is caused solely by Acrobat reader, the solution is simple...uninstall Acrobat & install Foxit in it's place.

Now you have the best of both worlds. Your 2nd monitor will work & you've gotten rid of major bloatware with Acrobat Reader. You're pdf files will open instantly, instead of waiting for 97 worthless abobe plugins to load.

Here is the info from the about box. I'll post one from my main monitor and also from my projector... I do absolutely no physical cable switching... they are both hooked up all the time

Ultramon labels the monitor diffrently, but refuses to believe there is more than one display hooked up at a time... this was fine until about a week or two ago - around the same time as acrobat reader was updated... I uninstalled acrobat reader + was fine after the first reboot, but it has reappeared (without loading acrobat reader back in) I also have updated to the 3.0 beta 1 release of ultramon without any changes.

What does Control Panel > Display > Settings show?

If possible, please send me a screenshot to support@realtimesoft.com.

screen shot just sent out - it never dawned on me until now that I wasn't using the standard windows screen to swap monitors - I was using the Nview screen. Windows doesn't know about the 2nd monitor either...

If I ever figure it out I'll post my solution.

On the screenshot you sent there is an option nView Display Mode, changing that from 'Single display' to Dualview should fix the problem.

switching them both on and then using ultramon's profiles for individual use seems to have worked. - thanks
