I am in the process of building a new workstation with a Quadro NVS440 card to support 4 22" (1680x1050) LCDs, laid out horizontally.
Should I use Ultramon by itself, nView by itself, or both? One thing I would very much like to do is maximize one of my applications to 3 of the 4 displays and have another application on the 4th display. Is there any way to do this?
Related question #1 - Is it necessary to use one of the curved mounting bars to mount the monitors, or does one do just as well by arranging them on a desk on their own stands?
Related question #2 - Any opinions on 22" vs. 20" wide screen LCDs? I currently use a 20" Dell Ultrasharp, but the new 22" HP and Samsung displays are $50-$80 cheaper.
Related question #3 - Is Ultramon resold by system builders of multiple monitor systems? I looked at buying a multimonitor workstation from a company but decided against it when I saw that they wanted over $2000 for what I can build for $1600. Also, they ask $2800 for a 4 display system, even though they offer a zero dead pixel guarantee. They describe their multi monitor software with screen shots that look almost exactly like the screen shots of Ultramon on this site.

UltraMon doesn't directly support maximizing a window across only 3 of 4 monitors, but you could do this with a custom script invoked via hotkey.
If you have a single row of monitors you won't need a stand, but maybe the stand would help save a bit of desk space.
There are a couple of multi-monitor display vendors who sell a rebranded version of UltraMon.
