The latest signatures for AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 (database 269.12.8-974) flags UltraMonMirror.dll as containing the Obfustat.JPA virus.

My UltraMonMirror.dll is file version 2.7.0.0 dated 9/24/2006 @ 9:23PM.

This is a valid file, right?

Thanks,
Roger

I have the exact same problem. First occurred on 8/26/07 during AVG 7.5 Anti-Virus System scan on XP.

AVG reports C:\Program Files\Common Files\Realtime Soft\UltraMonMirrorDrv\x32 (UltaMonMirror.dll) as Obfustat.JPA virus.

Is this safe?

I am not willing to buy this product until it is confirmed as virus\spyware free.

Same problem! Is it false positive?

Here is a follow up

8/27/07

AVG updated its virus database to version
269.12.10/976 released 8/27/07.

AVG no longer reports UltaMonMirror.dll as a virus.

It seems AVG is getting more aggressive with their
virus definitions in the past few months. I've had several false positives lately.

This could be good or bad depending on your paranoia level.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update Gary.

I have tested with Norton Antivirus, and none of the UltraMon files, including UltraMonMirror.dll, were flagged as infected.

After AVG flags them as a virus, AVG moves them to a quarentine area. Do I need to return these files or will an update of Ultramon (currently running 2.7.0.0) return these files?

Repairing the installation should restore the file, to do this go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon from the list, click on the support information link, then click on Repair.
