I'm including a screen shot so you can better understand what I mean; I'm using 3.0 Beta 1 with Windows Vista Ultimate 32Bit.

It started happening after I logged in via Remote Desktop; I thought it just needed a reboot but that did not help at all.

Unfortunately I don't know what might cause this, a reboot should usually fix such issues.
One thing you could try: close UltraMon, then run regedit.exe and delete the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon\3.0.0'. UltraMon will then create a new default configuration.
