On the user selection screen for Windows XP, my second monitor (connected to my laptop) seems to behave wrong (as well as my laptop screen). My 2nd monitor is on the left side, I've had similar (if not the same), problem using the 3.0 beta and the previous version of UltraMon. OK, on to the problem.
My settings: Toshiba laptop, some crappy 16mb fx card, no screen saver, power save turns off monitor after 20 minutes inactivity.
My problem: When I'm on the user selection screen, the 2nd monitor goes black but doesnt seem to be off, which I think is normal? Then, I just leave everything alone (dont know if that leads to the problem with the 20 minutes off). Occassionally, the 2nd monitor comes back to life and I see my desktop (from UltraMon v2.x when the power save comes on) for half a second then it goes black again (monitor is sleeping again I think).
With UltraMon v3.0, when its not sleeping yet, the screen occassionally swaps for half a second.... then its back to normal - still on the login screen.
I have not tested the sleeping monitor deal with v3 yet. Whats happening? Ultramon issue? Windows issue? Power saving issue?

Maybe the screen saver gets started, what happens if you change the screen saver and power save settings to something else, for example 1 minute?

i dont have a screen saver; only a power save that turns off the monitor, which works perfectly unless logged off. theres no problem if i dont log off / switch user.

I'm not sure what else might cause this. Does the problem go away if you uninstall UltraMon?
