UltraMon 3.0 Beta 1 has been released, this release introduces a redesigned Smart Taskbar with toolbar docking and support for the Windows Vista look.

Please note that this release is less mature than UltraMon 2.7.1, and is mainly recommended if you:

- are using Windows Vista,
- are affected by an issue which was fixed in this release,
- or want to try the new features

Release notes for Ultramon 3.0.0(beta 1)

Release notes Snippets( for full version refer to link)
==============================================

-You can add toolbars to the UltraMon taskbars (not all toolbars will work with UltraMon though)

-Additional Vista compatibility work will be done for later beta releases. Support for the window buttons under Aero is planned for beta 2, a new version of mirroring for the 3rd beta. Please note that there is no guarantee that those features will work the same way as on Windows 2000/XP.

Known Issues (as of 4/1/2007)
============

-The Smart Taskbar may not pick up all taskbar configuration changes, for example if you move the Windows taskbar to a different screen edge, the UltraMon taskbars won't get moved to the same edge automatically. As a workaround, restart the Smart Taskbar

-WindowBlinds skins which use transparency aren't fully supported, you'll get a black background where the taskbar should be transparent

-Taskbar buttons are cut off at the bottom on Windows 2000

For all new bugs/issues please also submit in email form to support@realtimesoft.com . Please note, you will not recieve a reply.

Please remmeber to thank Christian for his hardwork!

Hi, is it possible to include the feature of resizing the secondary taskbar? I'm used to double height start menus... Otherwise the beta is working ok on Vista x64

UltraMon should pick up the settings from the main taskbar, but this doesn't work correctly in all cases yet.

To resize the UltraMon taskbars if you have the main taskbar locked:

unlock the main taskbar and change the autohide option under Properties. UltraMon will pick up the new settings, and you can now resize the taskbars as usual. Now lock the main taskbar again and restore the original setting for the autohide option.

Thanks Chris for getting this out and on on time to boot. I swear I was looking forward to this release more than the release of Vista itself.
