I have a couple of users setup on my machine that load up different hardware configurations and whatnot in WinXP 64. The way I have it curretly setup is that My development user loads up Ultramon in a 4 monitor configuration, and my gaming user loads up Ultramon in a 1 monitor setup. This all works fine, except that if I log into my gaming (1 monitor) user, finish what I'm doing, then log out, and log in as my dev (4 monitor) user, my top monitor (monitor 4, I'm pretty sure) doesn't come up at the correct resolution, no matter how hard I try. Even if I go into the control panel and look, the correct resolution just isn't there, and it's sitting at a lower resolution.
The only way for me to fix this is to reboot the whole machine, and then when I log into the dev (4 monitor) user, the correct resolution is recognized. Of course, that kinda defeats the whole purpose of my multiple user setup on my machine, which was to avoid rebooting a lot.

Can you restore the correct display settings via UltraMon menu > Display Settings?

I'm sorta on the other side of the planet from my main system right now, so I'm working off of memory, but doesn't that lead you to the standard windows display properties? If that's the case, then no, I can't restore it that way. If it leads elsewhere, I'll have to wait until I get home in just under 2 months to try it.

It's UltraMon's version of Display Properties, but if you can't fix the problem via Display Properties, it probably also won't work via UltraMon.
My guess would be that this is an issue with the hardware profile, UltraMon probably won't be able to help with this.
BTW, why not just disable all secondary monitors for gaming? This should have the same effect, and shouldn't cause any problems when you want to re-enable the monitors.

I'm shooting for something automated for switching between "gaming mode" and "dev mode". Ultramon's multi-monitor configuration files are a convenient way to change between 4 monitor and 1 monitor setups. Since they're saved as files, I can just pop them into the user's startup folder. I know not of a way to achieve this automation with disabling monitors. Additionally, the only thing I have left to worry about is to find a way to enable/disable SLI mode on my video cards automatically, and I'll be set^^

UltraMon display profiles will only disable the additional monitors, no different Windows hardware profile will get loaded.
If you switch between SLI and non-SLI mode, that's most likely the cause of the problem.

I'll have to take a look at that when I get back home. Thank you for the pointers^^
