When I'm using Ultramon and Windows Media Player 11, the player sometimes refuses to close. When I close Ultramon then I can close WMP with no problem.

No, it just doesn't close. The ultramon buttons appear to sit behind the Windows Media window control buttons instead of sitting next to the Windows Media Control buttons and are not active.

Disabling the UltraMon buttons for WMP should fix this.
To do this, go to UltraMon Options > Window Title Bar and add wmplayer.exe from the C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player folder to the list of excluded applications.
