When I bring my laptop on the road and try to open a particular application it does not display on my laptop screen. I can see it in the bottom tray and when I try to access it I see it zoom to the other Monitor (which is at home and not with me) but it does not appear on my laptop monitor. Any ideas how to fix?

Make sure that the secondary monitor is disabled (UltraMon menu > Display Settings).
Some applications will still open outside the visible desktop though, you would need to move those back to the desktop manually, for example via the Move to Other Monitor menu option.
