When Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger 8.0) and UltraMon are running at the same time, and Messenger is opened (showed on screen) I can't right click, start menu only displays one level and I can't start any programs.
As soon as I close Messenger to tray everything starts working again. Opening Messenger -> everything stops working. First thought it was a "move button"-issue, but it happens also without the added buttons.

Which version of UltraMon are you using?
I tested with UltraMon 2.7.1 and Windows Live Messenger 8.0.812 on Windows XP SP2, but haven't noticed any issues with the start menu.

Same version of both UltraMon and Live Messenger as you, but an A-patch'ed Messenger.
But the really weird thing is: at first everything was OK. Then after a couple of days I logged on to my computer using Remote Desktop from work. Then, when i came home the computer appeared to have locked up. Restarted and the same happened again (and again and again). Was beginning to fear a complete reinstall when i thought I'd try to exit newly installed software, i.e. UltraMon. Then the problem went away.
Later that day i tried to find which software it "collided" with, and found that running both UltraMon and Messenger caused the lock-up.

I have now connected remotely to the test system as well, but both connecting remotely and logging in locally again afterwards worked fine while both UltraMon and Messenger were running.
Maybe it's a resource issue: does this happen even immediately after system startup, or only after some time has passed?

It happends just after both programs have been initialised.
Symptoms: - Start menu only shows shortcuts _above_ "Programs" (above the line) - No desktop icon is clickable - CTRL+ALT+DELETE -> Task manager does not start task manager. - Task bar/tray icons are not right clickable
Maybe I should try to un/reinstall Messenger and see what happends.. I _really_ want it to work, love the UltraMon program! :)

OK, I've recently reinstalled XP, and installed both Live Messenger and Ultramon 2.7.1.0. Got the same problems. Then i saw something on the forum about a driver issue with the mirroring functionality, so i changed the install and uninstalled all but the core features of Utramon.
It seems that fixed the problems :)
