Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Mirroring initially moves application windows.

Example:
Monitor 1 has app1 window open.
Monitor 2 has app2 window open.

I want to mirror mon 1 on mon 2.
Start mirroring, app2 moves to mon 1 first, then mon 1 is mirrored on mon 2.

Stop mirroring, app2 moves back to original location on mon 2.

I do NOT want app 2 moving to mon 1 as it clutters mon 1 especially if app2 is a metaphor for many apps on mon 2.

Is there an option to prevent this?

That's not supported, there's also no easy workaround because UltraMon will prevent applications from getting moved back to the mirror target monitor.

I'll consider adding support for this in UltraMon 3.

Would you still need access to the other applications when mirroring, or is this never an issue?

Would you only need one application to get mirrored instead of the whole monitor?

You said: "Would you still need access to the other applications when mirroring, or is this never an issue?"
Access to App2 on mon2 is not required during mirroring.

"Would you only need one application to get mirrored instead of the whole monitor?"
Not necessary.

The following scenario I will outline would arguably be very very popular in MOST office environments that have 2 monitors at reception. If you can implement AND explain the benefits in your marketing I would imagine it would be very much worthwhile for your business.

OK
ENVIRONMENT:
Reception - 2 monitors. WHY 2 - because the person there has many apps of an admin nature.
SCENARIO:
Client walks in and wants to see a salesperson. No salesperson there so she hot keys to kick in mirroring, opens up a SALES related app, swings her second monitor around and shows him whatever.

This is what I am trying to achieve in an office. Without mirroring there is no other way of achieving this. Nobody wants clients to walk around the reception desk with say their kids etc.

Even if a salesperson is in the office she can do some pre-sales qualifying work.

Your current mirroring is a good start but the apps on mon2 cluter mon1.

Hope you understand all this. I really think it would be of huge benefit to your business if marketed correctly.
