Hi

I have a T42 connected to 2405fpw.
When I enable the secondary task bar on the second monitor, the task bar in the primary monitor will stack up on the orginal task bar, so I have two layers of task bar, with the bottom one empty. How can I get the task bar in the primary monitor to just stay put when I enable the secondary task bar, instead of stacking on top of it.

The other question is: can we set two different DPI settings in two monitors. I searched the forum and it was discussed in 2002 posts. Just wanted to check if things have changed after these years, and if we can now set different DPI settings for different monitors. Thanks.

Do you have two taskbars on the primary monitor, and none on the secondary monitor?

UltraMon won't help with the DPI issue, and Windows XP also doesn't support it. I don't know if Vista will bring anything new in this regard.

Hi

I have two task bars in the primary monitor, and one task bar in the seconary monitor.
What happens is when I enable the secondary task bar,the programs that are in the primaray minotor will leave the original task bar that is right next to the Start button, and have another task bar just right on top of the original task bar, leaving the original task bar empty. So I was wondering how I can make that task bar stacking on top go away and just have the oringal stack bar.
The secondary task bar is normal though, listing the programs opening in the secondary monitor.

Also, I wonder if there is a way to have another "Start" button or quick launch next to the task bar in the secondary minitor. Thanks.

To close the additional taskbar on the primary monitor, right-click it with the mouse and select Close from the menu.

The Windows taskbar will then again show the tasks from the primary monitor.

Start menu or Quick Launch on the UltraMon taskbar isn't supported, what you could do is add a second Quick Launch toolbar to the Windows taskbar, then drag this toolbar to the secondary monitor and dock it above or below the UltraMon taskbar.
