as per my post in the the multiple monitor section :

in short, i have a 30" dell LCD monitor running at 2560x1600 res and a projector running at 1280x720.
i have them connected to an nvidia 7800GT card but cant get a clone mode going with 2 diff resolutions.
i have tried the options in "digital flat panel settings" but no joy. tried all 4 of these:
# Display Adapter Scaling
# Centered Output
# Monitor Scaling
# Fixed Aspect Ratio Scaling
and the result is my dell monitor is fine, but the projector has 1280x720 window spanning across a 2560x1600 desktop.
what i would like is to send the projector a 2560x1600 display but resized to 1280x720 just for the projector.
would ultramon allow me to do this?

This should work fine, but you should test if performance and image quality will be sufficient for your needs.
Both performance and image quality suffer when UltraMon needs to do scaling.

ah cool. will try that out. i'm assuming the trial version will let me do this?
one more Q tho, in regards to this and other situations where using ultramon requires the CPU to do a lot of work, is it possible, or do you plan to implement a facility to offload that workload onto the GPU? maybe in vista with a load of the effects being done by the GPU as opposed to the CPU currently.
that would be great :)

This will work fine with the trial version, the trial is full-featured and fully functional.
Mirroring performance is certainly something I'm going to look at for UltraMon 3, but I don't know yet if it will be possible to improve performance.
One approach I'm also going to consider is support for non-realtime mirroring, this should decrease system load, but may not be a suitable solution for all situations.
