Me and a buddy have thought a lot about this. What we want are virtual monitors that ultramon can manage just like regular monitors. But theyre not real monitors--theyre just container windows that we can drag around the desktop, resize, maximize, etc. So ultramon could "send to monitor 3" which was a virtual monitor and it would appear within. All the rules of ultramon would apply, I think. Ideally it would not be logically joined to the desktop (and therefore it would be impossible to drag to the third virtual window) but only moveable by commands. However, I don't know if this is possible in windows.

Thanks for your suggestion, will be considered for UltraMon 3.

I'm currently using something like this internally for testing: a custom virtual video card driver for one or more virtual monitors, and UltraMon's monitor preview feature (UltraMon menu > Mirroring > Monitor Preview) to interact with applications on the virtual monitors.

The problem is that this most likely will no longer work with Windows Vista, so I don't know if this will ever be released publicly.
