First, thanks for your great product.
Now for the error:
when the IcoUltraMon.exe file is launched at startup the NTVDM crashes with the following error:
NTVDM-CPU encountered an illegal instruction

Looks like there is something wrong with your UltraMon installation. IcoUltraMon.exe is an internal file containing the UltraMon icon, it is only used by the installer, and isn't an executable file.
The shortcut on the Start menu (Programs -> Startup) should point to UltraMon.exe.
Please uninstall UltraMon, then reinstall again. Also make sure you have the latest version, 2.0 Beta 4. If you still get the same error, let me know.

Thanks for your reply.
I use 2.0 beta 4, allright. After reinstall, I experience the same problem. If I manually edit the shortcut in my Startup folder to point to UltraMon.exe, it works and the NTVDM error message disappears.
Somehow my system mixed up the icon and the .exe and tried to execute the icon file... no wonder the NTVDM crashed.

If you are interested in finding the cause of the problem, you could do a logged install and send me the log file:- open a command prompt, and change to the directory where you have stored UltraMon20.msi
- run the following command:
msiexec /i UltraMon20.msi /L* UltraMon.log - after setup has finished, you will have a file called UltraMon.log in the same directory as UltraMon20.msi
You'll need to uninstall UltraMon to be able to run setup again.
