By using the built in screen of a laptop/tablet device as Secondary Monitor and an LCD Monitor as the Primary Monitor, the settings work fine if this configuartion is used daily.
But when laptop/tablet is used on its own (without the LCD screen) when travelling for instance, the settings seem to default back to its original state, i.e. the laptop/tablet reverts back to the Primary and the LCD Monitor is mirrored.
Can any help?

Are you trying to set up an UltraMon display profile which configures the external monitor as primary?
This most likely won't work, with most laptops UltraMon can't change the primary monitor. You would need to do this manually via the settings for the video card, or by pressing the function key (if available) which switches between internal and external monitor.
