I am looking into giving UltraMon a try however, before I do I would like to know if it will work on my set-up and if so, how difficult it would be to configure.

I have two video cards in my box that go to two different monitors. One, is a regular VGA while the second is a HDTV.

Can UltraMon help me run particular apps or games on the HDTV while still giving me the ability to still work in a Windows enviroment on the VGA monitor.

Thanks.

UltraMon has no special support for this.

For example most games won't allow you to move the mouse to the other monitor without alt-tabbing out of them.

If you also have the problem that applications only run on the VGA monitor: games for example will always run on the primary monitor, to run these types of applications on the HDTV you would need to set the HDTV as the primary monitor via Display Properties > Settings.

Thank you for your response. I guess the solution, while not a "hot key" solution. Is to change the HDTV to being my primary monitor when I intend on playing any games.

Will UltraMon help me with setting up dual video cards & dual monitors? It appears that it will from what I am reading.

Thanks.

Switching primary monitors via hotkey would be possible, or you could use display profiles to do this.

To change the primary monitor via hotkey, you would need to create a new 'Run application or script' hotkey and configure it to run the SwitchPrimary script.

You'll only need to enable the additional monitor, either via UltraMon or Windows Display Properties, no additional configuration is required.

I guess I will have to work on the display profiles as I seem to have issues with WinDVD, MAME, and games. It appears that I also have to be careful of what mode the TV is in. (i.e. wide, zoom, wide zoom) Maybe I need a script for whateve app I am running.

I am seeing resolution issues when trying to run Meedio (HDeeTV them) on the HDTV. The settings within Ultramon don't seem to be able to make the changes that I need. If I go into the settings for the ATI card itself will this cause a conflict?

That shouldn't be a problem.
