When I unlock my PC (XP SP2, 32bit) with 3 monitors (2 video cards) and Smart Taskbar enabled I get a really annoying flicker across all my apps that seems to be directly related to the number of windows I have open (maybe in the "30" range of unique items on the task bar(s) - I don't use grouping). A couple other folks I work with have the problem as well but we can't seem to figure out what's unique about it. It drives me nutty because you can't really use the PC for about 10-20 seconds while the flickering is happening. I know it's related to this since when I disable the Smart Taskbar it doesn't happen. This also doesn't seem to happen ALL the time, but it certainly happens almost 100% of the time when the PC has not been rebooted in a while, but if I close and restart ultramon it doesn't get better.
Is there some junk in windows that it's enumerating ever time it draw the bars or something?
ideas?

The only thing I've noticed is that maximized windows get resized when you log in again, due to the taskbars getting docked again. This happens with the Windows taskbar as well though.
The UltraMon taskbar doesn't need to retrieve window icons or caption text during redrawing, these things are cached.
What I've also seen myself with lots of open applications (and nearly all physical memory used) is that logging in again for example after resuming from hibernation takes longer, the Windows and UltraMon taskbars take a couple of seconds to redraw themselves.
This doesn't seem to be related to UltraMon though, the Windows taskbar has the same problem without UltraMon running.

humm, ok I've disabled smarttaskbar (but still have ultramon running) and still notice it now. I'll play more with it, I never see this w/o ultramon running so I'll continue to monkey with it. thanks.
