Hi,
i have a fujitsu siemens lifebook e4010 with an dual Intel 8285x chipset. So i use my external monitor as primary screen and the laptop lcd as external screen. When i am offline, i only have the laptop lcd (then this is primary). When i get back in the office, the lcd is still primary when booting, so when ultramon is starting up, the two monitors are the wrong way round (lcd primary, crt secondary). When i use the option *choose primary monior* in ultramon, it behaves crazy and i have only 1 monitor and 640x480 which i cannot change anymore. i now have to go to the windows control panel and adjust the sceen settings there. i noticed that when i press fn+f10 (hardware swapping of video output) on system startup to swap the monitors on hardware level, everything works normal.
has anyone had this problem before or are there any valuable tricks ?

This seems to be an issue with the driver for the Intel video chipset, when trying to set the primary monitor via UltraMon or Windows, the primary doesn't get changed and the resolution of the primary monitor is changed to 640x480.
What works fine is changing the primary monitor via the Intel software for the video chipset, look for the Intel tab under advanced display properties.
Please note that this can cause problems for UltraMon, due to the monitor numbers getting swapped (the new primary monitor will become #1).
