I made a ultramon shorcut to a local addres, so it would show on the second monitor that I Have.
Then when I execute the shorcut, it opens two Internet Explorer, one in monitor 1 and the other in monitor 2.
Is there any way the program opens only one Internet Explorer on the monitor I select?
Thanks

That should work fine, are you sure there are actually two instances of Internet Explorer open?
UltraMon can't force an application to open on the desired monitor, but it can move it to the monitor afterwards, so you might see the application open on monitor 1, and then get moved to monitor 2.

I have exactly the same problem too - I have an IE shortcut, and in 'properties' I have set the positioning for a precise position on my second monitor.
However, TWO instances of IE open - one in the correct location/size and another maximised to that monitor.

Do you have another tool installed which might do something in response to IE getting launched, for example the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager or ATI HydraVision?

No, I don't. If I launch Internet Explorer from anywhere else, e.g. a desktop shortcut, only one instance launches. It's only when I activate the 'custom placement' option of Ultramon that 2 instances are launched.

Unfortunately I have no idea why this would happen, and also can't reproduce this issue (I tested on Windows XP SP2).
Let me know if you find out anything else.
