I really like Ultramon and would like to register it but for one problem, it will not re-enable the secondary monitor if I reboot with just the primary enabled?
2 monitors Current desktop: 2176x864 (0,0 - 2176,864)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1152x864, 32-bit color, 75 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1152,864. Workspace: 0,0 - 1152,836 Video card: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 (Dell) Device name: \\.\DISPLAY1
Monitor 2: Settings: 1024x768, 16-bit color, 85 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1152,0 - 2176,768. Workspace: 1152,0 - 2176,768 Video card: S3 Trio64V2 Device name: \\.\DISPLAY2

Maybe UltraMon can't read the position and resolution of the disabled secondary monitor. Please try the following: disable the secondary monitor, then choose About from the UltraMon menu. Does it display coordinates and settings for the disabled secondary monitor?
Please also let me know what operating system you are using. I have tested on Win2000 SP1, worked fine.

If I just disable the secondary the settings are like this
2 monitors, 1 disabled Current desktop: 1152x864 (0,0 - 1152,864)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1152x864, 32-bit color, 75 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1152,864. Workspace: 0,0 - 1152,836 Video card: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 (Dell) Device name: \\.\DISPLAY1
Monitor 2 (disabled): Settings: 1024x768, 16-bit color, 85 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1152,0 - 2176,768 Video card: S3 Trio64V2 Device name: \\.\DISPLAY2
But if then RESTART my PC (which is my problem) the settings are like this and I cannot enable the secondary monitor (NOTE it seems to think both the monitors are primary).
2 monitors, 1 disabled Current desktop: 1152x864 (0,0 - 1152,864)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1152x864, 32-bit color, 75 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1152,864. Workspace: 0,0 - 1152,836 Video card: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 (Dell) Device name: \\.\DISPLAY1
Monitor 2 (primary): Settings: 1024x768, 16-bit color, 85 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1152,0 - 2176,768 Video card: S3 Trio64V2 Device name: \\.\DISPLAY2
I am running W2K SP1.

I guess the driver for the S3 card reports a wrong status when the card is disabled.
I have uploaded an updated version of UltraMon.dll which takes this into account: DLL for Win98/Me DLL for Win2000
To install the DLL, close UltraMon and make sure you don't have an UltraMon wallpaper selected for the desktop. Then extract the ZIP into the system directory, usually C:\Windows\System on Win98/Me, and C:\Winnt\System32 on Win2000.
Let me know if it fixes the problem.

That works a treat, I'm not used to such service. I've now registered my copy.
Many thanks Richard.

I have a similar problem, but the new dll did not fix this problem for me :o(
When I try to re-enable after disabling, apps that are minimized on my desktop cycle through maximize then minimize, and secondary does not re-enable.
Any ideas?
My info:
2 monitors, 1 disabled Current desktop: 1280x1024 (0,0 - 1280,1024)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1280x1024, 16-bit color, 85 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1280,1024. Workspace: 0,0 - 1280,996 Video card: Voodoo3 AGP Device name: \\.\Display1
Monitor 2 (disabled): Settings: 800x600, 16-bit color, default refresh rate Coordinates: -400,452 - 400,1052 Video card: Rendition Verite 2200 Device name: \\.\Display2
Kind regards, =rez=

Looks like the coordinates for the second monitor are invalid, the two monitors would overlap.
Please post the monitor settings with both monitors enabled, and also let me know what operating system you are using.
Thanks,

Ok, It's Win98SE. With both monitors enabled:
2 monitors Current desktop: 2080x1024 (-800,0 - 1280,1024)
Monitor 1 (primary): Settings: 1280x1024, 16-bit color, 85 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1280,1024. Workspace: 0,0 - 1280,996 Video card: Voodoo3 AGP Device name: \\.\Display1
Monitor 2: Settings: 800x600, 16-bit color, default refresh rate Coordinates: -800,0 - 0,600. Workspace: -800,0 - 0,600 Video card: Rendition Verite 2200 Device name: \\.\Display2

Looks like the Verite 2000 driver doesn't report the original monitor position when the monitor is disabled. A workaround is possible, I'll try to include it in Beta 4 (to be released this weekend).

The problem has been fixed in Beta 4, re-enabling secondary monitors should now work fine on your system.
